NBAA Offers Fuel-cost Savings Strategies

NBAA believes higher fuel prices are here to stay, but its new white paper, “Ten Critical Strategies for Long-Term Fuel Savings,” provides business aircraft operators with steps for saving money on aircraft fuel bills. The association said there are plenty of opportunities for business aircraft operators to save fuel and reduce operating costs on the order of thousands of dollars annually. Said NBAA vice president of education, operations and economics Mike Nichols, “While the price of fuel is out of your control, there are still tangible steps you can take to keep expenses down.” Strategies include comparing fuel prices at alternative destination airports and FBOs, calculating aircraft weight for maximum efficiency and determining if you qualify for a fuel discount, among other suggestions.
