Switzerland’s Amac Aerospace has extended its aircraft completions portfolio by securing approval from Airbus as an official completions center for its line of VIP aircraft. Meanwhile, the Basel-based facility has also just won two big completions projects for Boeing 777 widebodies, which are due to be delivered green to Amac in November and December. Separately, the European Aviation Safety Agency has approved Amac as a continuing airworthiness management organization. This gives it the authority to manage all aspects of maintenance and airworthiness compliance on behalf of aircraft owners and operators, including the issuing of airworthiness review certificates. This summer, Amac will open a new 90,500-sq-ft hangar that can accommodate Boeing and Airbus widebodies. The company is due to add an extension to allow room for the Airbus A380 double-decker.
