Helos Rescuing Oiled Birds in Gulf

Heliworks Bell 206s under contract to the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service are being used to help guide rescuers to birds endangered by the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The helicopters are equipped with the EMS Aviation Fleet tracking system, which allows bird rescuers to monitor the helicopters’ automated flight-following map via Internet, and quickly and precisely locate the oiled birds.
