Runway incursion reports don’t have to be filed by helicopter operators, according to an NTSB clarification correcting amendments to Part 830 that became effective in March. The Safety Board said the rule’s intent is that only air carrier fixed-wing aircraft operating at public-use airports must file reports of certain incursions that cause the operator of another aircraft or vehicle to take immediate corrective action to avoid a collision.
