Fully Equipped Nextant 400XT Completes First Flight

The first “fully equipped” 400XT twinjet from Nextant Aerospace made its first flight on September 8. Fully equipped means powered by Williams FJ44-3AP engines and with Collins Pro Line 21 avionics installed in the cockpit. According to Nextant president James Miller, “The 400XT operated flawlessly and exceeded our expectations for the first flight.” The next step is to begin flight tests of the aircraft and STC approval of the Williams engine installation in next year’s first quarter. The $3.9 million 400XT is a “re-manufactured” version of Hawker Beechcraft’s Beechjet 400A and 400XP. The fully equipped 400XT will be on display at the NBAA Convention, from October 19-21, in Atlanta.
