London Oxford preps for olympics

London Oxford Airport has begun work to add 4.4 acres of high-strength ramp space and is resurfacing another 1.2 acres of ramp, which will double parking capacity for aircraft weighing up to 110,000 pounds. "On occasions when we need to clear the main apron for major events in the future like the Silverstone Grand Prix and the forthcoming 2012 Summer Olympics, ­Oxford will be able to accommodate ­typically 40 or so mid- to larger-size executive jets opposite the new Oxfordjet FBO terminal facility," said business development director James Dillon-Godfray.
