Ethernet Switch Powers Aviation Devices

International Communications Group (Booth No. 4649) has introduced a fast Ethernet switch that will power up to eight aeronautical devices including EFBs, handsets, cameras and wireless access points with basic capabilities such as store and forward data packets, automatic medium dependent interface crossover (MDI-X) support and 10/100 megabytes per second autospeed sensing. The “e-Switch” has received FAA PMA and airworthiness approval. It provides a closed and secure environment for connection of aircraft Ethernet devices and flight deck EFB operations.
