Touching Bases: TEB Honors Good-Neighbor OPS

 Jersey’s Teterboro Airport (TEB) honored 24 company flight departments and individuals with its annual Good Neighbor Awards at the NBAA Convention in October. Recipients for the year 2009 were recognized for adhering to TEB’s voluntary noise restraints limiting late-night arrivals and departures and prohibiting Stage II jet operations. Honorees also have received no violations or warnings under the airport’s mandatory noise rules. Since TEB instituted the Good Neighbor Awards in 2004 as part of the Teterboro Airport Industry Working Group, aircraft average noise levels, violations and complaints have declined steadily, according to Gabriel Andino, TEB noise-abatement manager. Those receiving awards for 2009 were: Barnes & Noble, American Electric Power, Robert J. Borghi, Catawba, Classic Aviation, David Edell, Evertz Microsystems, Jeffrey Buckalew-Coolstream, Jon A. Wurtzburger, K Services, Limited Brands, Macklowe Properties, Manhattan Helicopters, Meredith, NCR, New York Helicopter Charter, R&F Wings, Travelers, Twin Cities Aviation, VF, Wal-Mart Aviation, Wham Leasing, White Mountain Capital and Wings Air.
