EMS Aviation, now a Honeywell company, is continuing to find customers for its Aspire 200 LG data connectivity system. Anderson Aviation recently selected the system for a Citation Sovereign to be operated by the Vancouver, B.C., charter and aircraft management firm on behalf of the airplane’s Canadian owner. The system includes a CNX 200 network accelerator and according to EMS Aviation it is “designed to deliver feature-rich voice and data connectivity to owners and operators of small- and medium-size business aircraft.”
EMS claims the system can be upgraded easily without rewiring the cabin or changing out the avionics racks. Aspire’s Inmarsat system data rates run from up to 200 kbps with a low-gain antenna to 300 kbps with an intermediate-gain antenna, and 432 kbps with a high-gain variant.
Anderson explained that the owner flies to South America and Europe regularly and needs voice and data contact during the long flights.
The installation is just one example of EMS Aviation’s expansion into Latin America. Aspire was highlighted at the EMS Aviation exhibit at the Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition in São Paulo, Brazil, in August. Also in August, EMS Aviation announced that São Paulo-based Avio Corp Equipamentos Aeronáuticos is now an EMS-authorized dealer. Avio is now offering EMS Aviation’s entire line of in-flight communication solutions, including eNfusion and Sky Connect.
