Business aircraft accidents, fatalities jump in first nine months of 2011

So far this year, the upward trend continues in the number of accidents and fatalities for both U.S.-registered and non-U.S.-registered business jet and turboprop operations worldwide. Several safety experts attribute the increase to more flying this year by charter and private business aircraft following a couple of flat years. These experts also expected that the accident rate (incidents per 100,000 flight hours) might not have changed considerably.
