Cessna has named Castle AM, a division of Castle Aviation, its newest single-engine service facility. The Akron Canton Airport-based MRO has been in business since 1984 and has been expanding its maintenance capabilities since it took over Summit Air’s maintenance shop in 2009. Castle specializes in Cessna Caravans, is authorized to service all Cessna singles, and also works on Aerostars.
“We’ve been operating Caravans since 1997 and currently operate five of our own. We’ve always done our own maintenance and as a result we have a significant amount of experience on the aircraft. Cessna has been asking us for some time to become one of its service facilities,” Dave Scheufler, director of maintenance, told AIN.
He added, “The designation gives us several advantages, including better access to Cessna support. We can pick up the phone and immediately get in touch with Cessna engineers, get a discount on parts and in general get access to the company that we couldn’t get before. It also allows us to process warranty claims and directly comply with factory service bulletins rather than work through a service center.”
