Dallas Airmotive Singapore Receives CAAS Certification
Subject Area
Content Body

Dallas Airmotive’s Singapore regional turbine center has been awarded an operating certificate from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). The facility is authorized by Honeywell for TFE731 major periodic inspection (MPI) services and line maintenance on TFE731, CFE738 and HTF7000 engines as well as line maintenance on RE100, RE220 and 36-series APUs.

The 5,000-sq-ft facility is staffed by six employees, including five certified mechanics and engineering-level personnel.

“We are now working with the individual airworthiness authorities of each country to obtain authorization to perform maintenance on aircraft registered in those countries even though the work will be done in Singapore,” Chris Pratt, director of marketing and strategic planning for BBA Aviation, Dallas Airmotive’s parent company, told AIN. According to Pratt, the facility will service Honeywell engines from across the Asia-Pacific region, including India, China, Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan and Australia. “While this market is relatively small in numbers now, it is expected to grow rapidly as evidenced by the recent activity in the region,” he said.
