Bombardier Offers Engineering Services in India

Bombardier Aerospace has opened a new engineering service office in Bengaluru, India. Its current staff of approximately 20 is slated to increase to about 50 aerospace engineers by the end of next year.

The facility will support Bombardier Aerospace’s in-production and in-development aircraft programs by providing assistance to both the company and the more than 400 engineers at its partners’ offices in the areas of complex engineering structure design, advanced stress analysis and project management services. It builds upon a Bombardier regional support office (RSO) opened in Mumbai in 2010. That facility was the first RSO in the Bombardier Customer Services network to support both business jets and airliners in one location.

Bombardier predicts that over the next 20 years it will benefit from a total of 1,330 business jet deliveries destined for India and that the Asia-Pacific region, including China, will take delivery of approximately 4,000 commercial aircraft in the 20- to 149-seat category. The OEM currently has Learjets, Challengers and Globals; CRJ700s; and Q400 NextGen turboprops in service in India.
