ACJ318 and ACJ319 Approved for Part 135 Operations

Airbus has gained Part 135 operations approval for the ACJ318 and ACJ319. Previously, unscheduled commercial operators flying the ACJs had to undergo a more onerous approval process, such as Part 121 airline rules. Although operators still have to apply for a Part 135 certificate, these charter rules are simpler since they recognize that business jets typically carry fewer passengers, fly less frequently and operate in a less demanding environment. The new stipulations state that the aircraft have a payload no greater than 7,500 pounds.
