NTSB Promotes DeLisi To Head of Office of Aviation Safety

The NTSB announced the promotion of John DeLisi to director of the agency’s office of aviation safety (OAS) today. He will assume his new position on June 2, following the retirement of current director Tom Haueter. DeLisi has been the OAS’s deputy director since 2007. During his 20-year career at the NTSB, DeLisi has overseen several major investigations, including the January 2009 ditching of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River and the February 2009 Colgan Air accident near Buffalo, N.Y.
