Duncan Aviation Opens New Paint Shop

A new $11.5 million, 45,000-sq-ft. aircraft paint shop has entered service at Duncan Aviation’s Lincoln, Neb., facility. It can support aircraft as large as the Gulfstream G650, Bombardier Global Express, Dassault Falcon 7X and Embraer Legacy. The new facility follows on the heels of last year’s implementation of a chrome-free paint process.

“When we first announced construction of our new paint facility last spring we explained it would fuel future growth for all of our business aircraft services,” Todd Duncan, chairman of Duncan Aviation, told AIN. “Paint work tends to bring with it airframe or engine maintenance, interior refurbishment and avionics upgrades. That results in the need for more space to house the larger aircraft where we can perform other services. We have talked for a while about a long-term plan for Duncan Aviation that includes additional, larger maintenance hangars along with more backshop and office space. Economic, business and construction indicators have led us to decide that now is the time to pursue those plans.”
