The rotorcraft world is preparing to alight at the Las Vegas Convention Center next week for the Helicopter Association International’s Heli-Expo 2013. The conference opens on Monday with safety seminars and media briefings, while the 1.5-million-sq-ft exhibit space and indoor static display opens at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, following the annual membership meeting and breakfast.
At least one manufacturer may unveil a new helicopter program at the show, and a number of interesting announcements, particularly on the avionics side, are expected.
New this year is HAI’s Rotor Safety Challenge, which is free for Heli-Expo attendees and exhibitors. All who attend at least six of 30 available one-hour safety sessions will receive a certificate of recognition. Sessions will cover rotorcraft flight operations, maintenance, safety culture/leadership and safety management, and these begin on Monday and end Thursday.
All are invited to get the party started at HAI’s welcome reception March 3 at 7 p.m. at the Encore at Wynn.
