Marshall Acquires Beechcraft’s MRO Business in Europe
Subject Area
Content Body

Marshall Aerospace announced yesterday that it purchased Beechcraft’s flagship European maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business, Hawker Beechcraft Ltd. The facilities were also known as Hawker Beechcraft Services Chester and had provided a full range of Hawker and Beechcraft maintenance, modification, paint and upgrade services for more than 50 years.

Company CEO Steve Fitz-Gerald said Marshall is “committed to a strategy of building our civil aerospace business and I am delighted that Hawker Beechcraft Limited has become part of Marshall Aviation Services.” The deal–Marshall’s second business aviation acquisition this year after it acquired UK-based aircraft charter and management firm FlairJet in March–“demonstrates our ambition to grow and become a major player in the business and commercial aviation marketplace,” according to Fitz-Gerald.

Marshall Aviation Services also plans to broaden the range of aircraft types supported at the Broughton facility in Wales and will leverage its design and integration expertise to provide aircraft manufacturers, governments and specialist operators with innovative engineering and support solutions to satisfy special mission requirements, it said. The company will also continue to provide service and support for Beechcraft throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa and has been granted authorized service center status for Hawkers and King Airs.
