Vector Signs PT6T Mx Deal with Optima Aero

Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services North America (HS-NA) has signed a three-year MRO support contract with Quebec, Calif.-headquartered Optima Aero to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul for the latter’s PT6T-series engines.

Optima Aero offers a package for the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T, PT6B and PW200 and Turbomeca Arriel 2 consisting of parts, technical expertise and component and engine exchanges.

“Vector has been a valued and trusted partner for Optima Aero, and this was key in developing an innovative MRO agreement with them,” said Optima Aero president Toby Gauld. “Everybody at Vector strives to increase value for the customer, and understands the importance of the full value stream.”

Chris McDowell, v-p for sales and marketing at HS-NA, told AIN, “The work will be done at our PT6T shop in Richmond, where we have DDOF certification with Pratt & Whitney Canada. In addition to the engines being overhauled or exchanged, some engines will be reduced to parts to provide customers with the alternative of a more economical overhaul.”
