Pilots who use head-up displays (HUD) swear by them as a simple yet effective method of maintaining situational awareness without having to regularly divert their eyes around the cockpit. A Google Glass app recently appeared called HUD for Glass that is reportedly capable of displaying an aircraft’s altitude, speed, heading and attitude without the need for an Internet connection.
