Content Body
The U.S. Air Force is petitioning the FAA for lower training altitudes than are already approved under a previous exemption. “Due to technological advances in aircraft systems, as well as current and future operational requirements,” the Air Force says it has the need to train aircrew and employ aircraft systems “at lower altitudes” than granted in the current exemption. Like the current approval, the new petition requests exemptions from IFR altitude rules of FAR 91.177 and 91.179. Comments on the petition are due November 26.
