The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) partnered with A3P Technologies on the release of a new communication system intended to streamline crisis response. “At its core, emergency preparedness is about planning for what could be the worst day of your life,” said NATA president and CEO Thomas Hendricks. “The Safety 1st Digital Emergency Response System will serve as a vital tool for aviation businesses to respond effectively to these unforeseen incidents.”

The new fully customizable product, which is making its debut this week at the 2015 NBAA Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference in San Jose, Calif., delivers company contact lists, emergency checklists and enhanced communication tools through smartphones, tablets and computers. “The idea behind it was to take the existing paper response plans that aviation businesses have had forever that were sitting on a shelf and provide a tool that would make them more effective,” NATA director of safety and training Michael France told AIN. “Imagine what it would be like to hit a button on your cellphone, on your iPad or your laptop and instantly have your entire response team notified by text, email and automated voice call.”

Pricing for the subscription-based system, which can be instantly updated, varies depending on the size of the company.
