Christopher Hart, who was sworn in on March 17 as the 13th chairman of the NTSB, will be the featured speaker at the Greater Washington Business Aviation Association’s (GWBAA) annual Safety Standdown, scheduled for April 30 at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, Va.
The one-day event will cover a number of safety topics, including managing air traffic control procedural changes at the Potomac Tracon, safety management systems and unmanned aerial systems. NBAA vice president of safety, security, operations and regulation Doug Carr will provide an update on both NBAA and GWBAA activities. Other speakers include Brandon Miller of the FAA’s Potomac Tracon; aviation consultant and former Beechcraft vice president Bob Blouin; Todd Hattaway, vice president of maintenance for BBA Aviation; Patrick Moylan, senior director security, HS&E, flight support for BBA Aviation; Derek Carpenter, flight operations training supervisor for ArincDirect; and Brian Wynne, president and CEO for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International.
