Discovery Air Defence Services (DA Defence), a wholly owned subsidiary of Discovery Air, and Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) signed an agreement for high-performance upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) that will blend the use of DA Defence’s A-4 Skyhawks with APS's UPRT training, the companies announced last week at the Flight Safety Foundation's Business Aviation Safety Summit.

The four-day training consists of app-based preparatory academics, classroom instruction, four UPRT sessions in an aerobatic-certified Extra 300L, a two-hour session in an advanced multi-engine glass-cockpit simulator and a flight in a DA Defence A-4 Skyhawk. The A-4 flight focuses on high-Mach, high-altitude UPRT and includes high-altitude stalls. The program that incorporatees the A-4 flight takes place at APS's Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport location in Arizona. APS also offers UPRT at its facilities in Dallas and at Breda International Airport in The Netherlands.

DA Defence provides military jet training services to a number of militaries, medevac and airborne fire services. This advanced course is part of the Leading Edge program, an initiative of Bombardier Business Aircraft’s Safety Standdown program.
