The FAA has proposed a $75,000 penalty against Yipsilanti, Mich.-based Murray Aircraft Manufacturing for allegedly operating a British Aerospace Jetstream 3101 when it was not in compliance with the FARs. The agency alleges that between Dec. 12, 2012, and Feb. 18, 2014, the company operated the twin turboprop on at least 300 flights when 11 required maintenance checks had not been performed. The company was required to perform the checks every 200 flight hours. Murray Aircraft Manufacturing has 30 days from receipt of the FAA’s enforcement letter to respond to the agency.
