Daher's newest contract to provide wing-to-body fairings for the Gulfstream G500 and G600 furthers the French manufacturer’s plans to expand its presence in North America, the company said. Daher last month announced its selection to build composite wing-to-body fairings for both the new Gulfstream aircraft in development. The contract follows an earlier agreement under which Daher provides the landing-gear doors for the G500 and G600.
Daher said the newest Gulfstream business consolidates its position as a tier-1 supplier on the Gulfstream programs and is the next step in Daher’s development strategy in the U.S. “The renewed confidence from Gulfstream is encouraging us to accelerate the growth of our activities in the United States,” said deputy CEO Didier Kayat. “Daher is committed to expand in the U.S. market.”
In March, Daher opened a new 32,000-sq-ft North American headquarters for its TBM airplane business at Pompano Beach Airpark in Florida. During the grand opening event CEO Patrick Daher confirmed that the company’s aerospace unit is still seeking to acquire a U.S.-based aerostructures company, “preferably on the East or West Coast,” as it seeks to expand its Tier 1 supplier business in North America. By the end of last year, the company employed 200 people and generated $200 million revenue in North America.
