An early morning air ambulance flight on August 16 crashed into a hill on the nature preserve at Tygerberg Hills just east of Capetown, South Africa. All five people on board the Cessna 441 Conquest, including the patient, died in the accident. The aircraft crashed at approximately 6:50 a.m. as the flight approached Cape Town’s Runway 19 after a flight from Namibia. Local ATC radar was out of service at the time of the crash. Local weather at the time of the accident has been that been reported as poor.
