Astronautics Corp. of America’s Nexis secure onboard server received EASA STC approval for the Airbus A320 family, which includes the ACJ318, 319 and 320. The platform allows an operator to create an aircraft network for seamless operations including aircraft and back-office networking with tailored security solutions.

It also displays electronic charts, en route moving maps and a full digital library of other documents. The charts and maps appear on two certified multifunction displays that show own-ship information and real-time weather. Astronautics said securely interfacing Nexis with mobile devices will come early next year.

In addition, Nexis securely connects the aircraft by recording, monitoring and automatically transmitting flight and maintenance operational quality assurance data and FMS dataloads, as well as providing global tracking capabilities.

“Our NEXIS secure server stores and processes information generated on the aircraft during flight that can be automatically downloaded, enabling improved maintenance and more efficient flight operations,” said Astronautics president Chad Cundiff. “Via our secure interface, operators can connect their mobile devices to Nexis without direct access to flight-critical avionics. Nexis is device agnostic, allowing it to securely connect to any tablet or mobile device.”
