Pentastar Aviation Awarded Gulfstream GV Wi-Fi STC

The FAA issued an STC to Pentastar Aviation for certification of compatibility of wireless data technologies on the Gulfstream GV. The certification allows operators to approve the use of portable electronic devices onboard aircraft with wireless networks or Wi-Fi hot spots for their passengers. It complements a similar Pentastar Aviation STC issued for the GIV series.

The FAA certification allows the use of transmitting portable devices for activities such as email, talk, text, and videoconferencing without interfering with flight-critical aircraft systems.

Pentastar Aviation provides aircraft management, advisory services, aircraft maintenance, avionics and interior services, as well as operates an FBO and private jet charter fleet, at the Oakland County International Airport in Waterford, Mich.
