Beijing Red Cross To Operate Medevac Falcon 2000LX

The Beijing Red Cross Emergency Medical Center this week took delivery of a Dassault Falcon 2000LX specially equipped for medical evacuation flights. According to the manufacturer, the twinjet is the first fixed-wing aircraft in China specifically equipped to handle medevac missions.

The cabin conversion work was conducted by Dassault Aircraft Services in Wilmington, Del. The 2000LX, which can fly up to 4,000 nm, is fitted with an electrically powered patient loading system and a full medical suite. Equipment provided in the medical module includes a stretcher with its own lighting, a three-bottle oxygen supply, as well as health monitoring and analysis equipment. The aircraft also can accommodate special devices, such as defibrillators, electrocardiographs, echographs, a blood bank and an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation system.

The Beijing Red Cross Emergency Medical Center, commonly known simply as 999, is part of the International Red Cross Association. It provides pre-hospital services and has been a pioneer of air ambulance operations in China, where it has already helped some three million patients.
