328 Support Services GmbH (328) recently moved into expanded facilities at its Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany headquarters as the services company marked its 10th anniversary as the type certificate (TC) holder of the Dornier 328 series of aircraft. 328 Support Services took over the 328 TC when the company acquired AvCraft in January 2006. It began with 50 ex-Dornier employees and has since grown to employ nearly 180 workers who support a fleet of 200 aircraft worldwide.


The company provides engineering and support for the 328, along with supplemental type certificate modifications for VIP variants. Acquired by Sierra Nevada Corp. (SNC) nearly a year ago, 328 Support Services has began to ramp up on the next phase of the 328 as the base aircraft for the new TRJet ine that SNC’s recently formed Turkish subsidiary is developing as part of Turkey’s Regional Aircraft Project.
