An ADS-B OUT solution is now available from Duncan Aviation for the Citation 560, 560XL, Ultra and Encore equipped with Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics. The STC upgrades the existing radios and transponder and adds a Honeywell KGS-200 GPS receiver as the ADS-B-compliant position source.
“This provides the most cost-effective solution for the aircraft while maintaining industry make and model standards,” said avionics sales representative Gary Harpster. “Many Citation operators are interested in meeting the ADS-B mandate but keeping their aircraft in an industry-standard configuration. That’s why we worked with Honeywell to develop this solution, which allows operators to meet the 2020 mandate deadline with time to spare.”
For those Citation models covered by this STC and already equipped with the Honeywell RM-855 Radio Management Unit (RMU), the upgrade will cost “just over $100,000,” according to Harpster. The original RM-850 RMU is no longer supported, so if those need to be upgraded, the ADS-B OUT STC will cost “closer to $190,000,” he said.
