Cessna secured EASA certification for the Citation Latitude, clearing the way for deliveries of the midsize business jet to Europe. The approval follows U.S. FAA certification by eight months.

The company also obtained approval for the twinjet to operate at La Mole Airport in St. Tropez, France. Aircraft must meet certain performance parameters to be able to use the airport because of its challenging terrain and heavy traffic.

Cessna, which has had three Latitude demonstrators on worldwide tour over the past year, has already begun shipments to European customers. “This aircraft is ideally suited for this market and can provide customers nonstop access to key destinations throughout the continent as well as North Africa and the Middle East," said Kriya Shortt, senior v-p of sales and marketing. The aircraft's 2,850-nm range permits nonstop flights such as London to St. John’s and Lisbon to Moscow.
