Content Body

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) this week signed an agreement through which the university will be the sole provider of required coursework for professional aircraft appraisers aspiring to apply for worldwide accreditation. Embry-Riddle, which has main campuses in Florida and Arizona, will be responsible for developing and updating four 30-hour courses in coordination with ASA materials and culminating in three exams.

The courses, which will be open to the public and scheduled to launch in the fall of 2016 before the NBAA convention in Orlando, include curriculum required by the ASA. Students successfully completing the course will be accredited as aircraft appraisers of commercial, business and general aviation aircraft, including fixed-wing and rotorcraft, and other aerospace assets. ASA accredited senior appraiser and Embry-Riddle board of trustee member Ken Dufour and Embry-Riddle graduate Wade Young will be involved with the development and presentation of the courses.

This year, Embry-Riddle is marking its 90th anniversary.
