The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved Waco, Texas-based Blackhawk Modifications’ Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-140 engine upgrade for the Cessna Caravan and Grand Caravan.

“I believe the 867-shp PT6A-140 engine will be the preferred engine for charter, float-plane, cargo and private owners throughout Europe who want a bolt-on engine upgrade solution that delivers significant performance and utility improvements,” said Jim Allmon, Blackhawk CEO and president. “The XP140 upgrade retains many items, including the existing cowl, engine mounts and exhaust, which allows us to offer it at the lowest price point per unit of horsepower of any Caravan engine upgrade available today.”

The upgrade includes a factory-new engine and propeller, a 325-amp starter/generator, smart engine gauges, oil cooler and engine hoses.
