Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Empire Aviation has signed a sales agency agreement to represent Winglet Technology, the companies announced today. Under the agreement, Empire Aviation will market and sell Winglet Technology’s Citation Sovereign and X winglet kit and installation options. The companies also plan to expand the number of U.S. locations where the winglets can be installed.
To date, almost a third of Citation X owners have opted to have these winglets installed on their aircraft, and Cessna has adopted the winglets as standard equipment on the Citation X+. Winglet Technology’s winglets for the Sovereign boost speed by up to 26 knots at FL450, while time-to-climb direct to FL450 drops to 25 minutes and range extends by 305 nm with payloads of more than 1,495 pounds. The company’s elliptical winglets for the Citation X reduce fuel consumption by about 5 percent, increase speed at altitude by 12 to 20 knots and extend range by 220 nm, to 3,270 nm.
“This new agreement with Empire Aviation will ensure we are able to reach deeper into the U.S. and world market through a team of experienced aviation experts," said Robert Kiser, co-founder and president of Winglet Technology.
