Content Body

Vector Aerospace has opened a new engine test cell at its Summerside facility in Prince Edward Island, Canada. The multimillion-dollar facility, which was the result of a financing partnership with provincial and federal governments, can support turboprop engines producing up to 5,000 shp. It joins three existing test stands at Summerside, two dedicated to turboprops and one to turbofans.

The new cell will expand Vector’s local test capacity on turboprop models supported from the Summerside overhaul facility, such as the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A and PW100 series, minimizing turn-around times and supporting further market share growth.

The Summerside facility is celebrating its 25th anniversary of providing engine MRO services. It employs more than 450 workers.
