Content Body

Duncan Aviation has leveraged the knowledge and experience of its engineering, certification and installation teams to develop a new book that offers a “clear and concise” look at the process of certifying and documenting repairs and modifications to aircraft. The MRO and completion company’s free “Certification Straight Talk Book” also includes a section on importing and exporting aircraft, an explanation of the process of obtaining an STC and a summary of the current state of global harmonization.

Notably, the resource includes a pre-modification checklist for aircraft owners, outlining what documentation should be gathered and presented to the shop before any work is started. This list includes floorplan drawings, passenger and crew seat information, logbooks, wiring diagrams, previous modification/installation records and burn data.

Among its extensive STC database, Duncan Aviation has access to or holds 35 STCs for ADS-B, which allows it to perform this upgrade on 100 business aircraft models. The company also holds or has access to Future Air Navigation System (Fans) solutions for 17 business aircraft models. In addition, the company plans to seek foreign validations for any NextGen STC solutions it holds.
