Content Body

Advent Aircraft Systems has begun FAA certification trials of its anti-skid braking system for the Pilatus PC-12. When certified, this will mark the third STC for Advent’s eABS; the company holds similar approvals for the  Eclipse 500/550 and Beechcraft King Air 300/B300. All PC-12 models are eligible for eABS installation, provided the aircraft is equipped with a Waas-enabled GPS.

The company’s eABS offers improved braking in all runway conditions without the risk of flat-spotted or blown tires, as well as an alternative to reverse thrust to reduce prop erosion and/or the risk of FOD ingestion. It also allows pilots to apply the brakes immediately after touchdown or in other situations where hard braking is required, such as a rejected takeoff.

As part of the PC-12 launch, Advent-authorized dealers are offering a discount of up to $5,000 on labor for installation to the first 10 operators in the U.S. who commit to purchasing eABS for their turboprop singles before November 3. List price for the PC-12 eABS is $50,604, not including estimated installation costs of $8,000 to $10,000. Downtime is “minimal” and requires no changes to the existing PC-12 brake system, Advent said.
