Bombardier Wave Now Available for Retrofit in Globals

Bombardier’s Ka-band high-speed internet Wave system is now available as an option for new-production Bombardier Global 5000s and 6000s and for retrofit in all Global models via the Bombardier Service Center network, the company announced yesterday. Wave is powered by Honeywell’s JetWave satcom system and features Inmarsat's JetConneX solution.

According to Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Bombardier Business Aircraft’s vice president and general manager of customer experience, “Existing Global customers can [now] take advantage of an ultra-high-speed, in-flight connectivity and productivity solution to make the most efficient use of their time on board. [They] can benefit from the service center network's capabilities and flexibility, all while maximizing their downtime by pairing their installation with their next aircraft maintenance event.”

The first customer aircraft retrofit with the Wave system installed within Bombardier’s network, was recently performed at the Singapore service center.
