Latitude Technologies Announces New Patents, Contracts and Employees

Flight data and satcom solutions company Latitude Technologies (Booth 2641) of Victoria, British Columbia (Canada) announced a new contract, a new patent and new hires at NBAA 2016.

The new contract with non-profit air-ambulance operator Ornge involves supplying software that will allow the company to download data from its supplier aircraft and securely transfer it for analysis. The information and insights provided from the data could help reduce operational costs and enhance training, operations, maintenance and engineering effectiveness.

The patent covers systems and methods for an independent device to control an aircraft satcom to make phone calls or transfer data with the ground. According to Tim Curtis, vice-president of information services at Latitude, this development will become a focal point for partnering with other companies on new airborne applications that improve flight safety and efficiency.

Finally, Latitude is adding to its executive team, hiring Brad Smith as COO, Carlos Monsalve as vice-president of air transport sales and Wayne Hundsdorfer as director of business aviation.
