Bombardier Business Aircraft’s service center network has conducted more than two hundred 96-month heavy inspections on its Challenger family of jets. The Canadian manufacturer, which announced the milestone on January 17, has 1,600 Challengers in operation worldwide, and these have logged a total of more than 7.3 million flight hours and made more than 4.3 million landings.
The in-depth maintenance process, which is conducted during the eighth year of an aircraft's being in service, involves a thorough inspection of the airframe, structure and landing gear. Bombardier is expanding its service center network with the addition of new facilities in Tianjin, China, and London Biggin Hill Airport in the UK.
“This milestone underscores our customers’ trust and confidence in Bombardier Business Aircraft’s industry-leading know-how,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, vice president and general manager of customer experience. “As the aircraft manufacturer, our level of expertise is unrivaled on the 96-month inspection, one of the most comprehensive in the aircraft’s lifetime.”
