Standard Aviation, the newest of four FBOs at Cyril E. King International Airport on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, has begun operations from a 1,200-sq-ft temporary facility, providing jet-A and avgas, catering and on-site car rental. It expects to break ground by the end of next month on a permanent 26,000-sq-ft location, which will offer a 2,000-sq-ft terminal with offices, new ramp space and a hangar that can accommodate four G550s at once. The company expects to complete the $6 million facility in Charlotte Amalie by the end of next year.
Standard is open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. with after-hours callout service available. The facility operates several executive tour buses to shuttle crews and passengers to hotels and the marina.
