Duncan Working on STCs for Gogo Biz 4G System

Duncan Aviation is working with Gogo Business Aviation to develop STCs for Gogo’s new 4G service and Wi-Fi equipment. Gogo’s 4G service in the continental U.S. and large portions of Alaska and Canada is slated to be available in the first half of this year.

The 4G STCs in joint development by Gogo and Duncan Aviation include the Bombardier Challenger 604/605/650, Challenger 300/350 and Global 5000/Express; Dassault Falcon 900/900EX and 2000/2000EX; and Gulfstream GIV and GV. Duncan’s avionics technicians have installed more than 575 Gogo air-to-ground broadband and WLAN systems on more than 15 business jet platforms. In addition, Duncan is the exclusive AOG service partner for Gogo Business Aviation.

“The new Gogo Biz 4G system is the next generation in Wi-Fi connectivity for business aircraft," said Duncan Aviation avionics installation sales representative Steve Elofson. The existing Gogo Biz air-to-ground service offers peak speeds of up to 3.1 Mbps, while the 4G service reportedly runs at up to peak speeds of 9.8 Mbps. Additionally, those upgrading to a Gogo Biz 4G system will be able to “easily upgrade and access” Gogo’s Next Gen service, which is expected to come online next year and offer data speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
