A Cessna Citation X parked on the Atlantic Aviation ramp at Salt Lake City International Airport was seriously damaged last Thursday morning when it was struck by a pickup truck driven by an employee of the neighboring Tac Air facility. According to a spokesman for the latter, the maintenance technician was on his way to service one of the company’s airline customers in the dark around 6 a.m. when the accident occurred.
The truck hit the trailing edge of the left wing of the unoccupied twinjet, owned by XOJet, and spun the aircraft approximately 180 degrees. The truck ended up in a grassy ditch near the taxiway. Airport fire and rescue had to extricate the driver from the mangled truck, and he was rushed to the hospital with what were described as "non-life-threatening injuries."
