Aircraft finance group Global Jet Capital last month boosted its presence in the Asia Pacific market by naming Violet Kwek as sales director for Greater China and North Asia. Kwek, who has extensive past experience in the banking and leasing sectors, joins the U.S.-based company from China Minsheng Banking Corp. where she was deputy head of corporate banking. She will operate from Global Jet Capital’s office in Hong Kong.
Prior to her time at China Minsheng Capital, Kwek built up the ship financing and leasing business of the Standard Chartered Bank in Greater China. In this role she worked with DVB Bank and various private equity and financial institutions in Singapore.
“I’m excited to be joining one of the most dynamic teams in business aviation,” said Kwek. “From my experience in international transportation asset finance and working with many Asian corporations, I see great potential for the business aviation market in this region.”
Global Jet Capital is backed by a trio of investment firms including GSDO Capital Partners, The Carlyle Group, and AE Industrial Partners. It currently has $2.5 billion in assets under management, with committed lending capacity of an additional $1 billion. In early 2016, it completed the acquisition of the portfolio of GE Capital Corporate Aircraft.
