Avionics provider Flightstar has received approval from multiple aviation authorities for its ADS-B OUT STC and single-FMS WAAS STC for the Bombardier Learjet 40 and 45. The Illinois-based company's latest authorizations come from EASA, Transport Canada, Brazil's ANAC and the Directorate General of Civil Aeronautics of Mexico (DGAC).

“We are excited to have international approvals for these STCs,” said Greg Vail, the company’s avionics manager. “The U.S. market has responded well to the options Flightstar has made available for Learjet 40 and 45 ADS-B compliance. The option to extend these STCs to more aircraft markets is a positive note for the aviation community.”

The ADS-B STC allows for operators to choose from two separate options for GPS pairing. The first uses a standalone KGS-200 GPS unit without having to upgrade the aircraft’s existing FMS. The second uses two Universal Avionics UNS-1Ew FMS units to source GPS position.

Flightstar’s single WAAS STC uses a single UNS-1Ew and localizer performance with vertical guidance (LPV) monitor to give the aircraft full LPV capability.
