Following the recent expansion of its operating hours starting last month, London Biggin Hill Airport has noted a significant increase in movements. According to the latest WingX Advance report, the dedicated general aviation gateway 12 miles from the UK capital saw a 21 percent increase in business aviation movements since the new hours went into effect on May 1. The UK entry port is now open from 6:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. during the week, and from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. on weekends and public holidays.
“Introducing extended operating hours has been the right decision for our airport and shows our commitment to offering our customers unrivalled flexibility and service," said Robert Walters, London Biggin Hill’s development director. He added that extended hours have proved especially popular with the slot-free airport’s North American and Middle Eastern clientele.
