Content Body

The Canadian Business Aviation Association’s annual convention, which will be held August 9 to 11 in Abbotsford, British Columbia, will feature two “important” panel sessions—an update from Transport Canada and Nav Canada, as well as a discussion on airports. The latter will be presented by Transport Canada director general of civil aviation Denis Guindon and Nav Canada executive vice president of service delivery Rudy Kellar, while Craig Richmond, president and CEO of Vancouver Airport Authority, will be one of the senior airport executives in the open panel discussion.

In addition, several informational sessions aimed at improving operations will also be held at CBAA 2017. They include workshops on CBAA’s safety and risk management systems, operational and regulatory hot topics and issues such as unruly passengers, unconventional risk and expectation bias. Other sessions will be held on how to use technology to increase efficiency, what ADS-B/NextGen means for Canadian operations and how to use data to manage costs.

CBAA is also launching new certified professional development program (PDP) courses at CBAA 2017: a quality systems auditor workshop for private operations and a course on strategic leadership in business aviation that counts toward NBAA CAM certification.

The exhibit hall and aircraft static display will be open to delegates attending the Aerospace Defense and Security Expo (ADSE) “for a combined—and unprecedented—total of about 1,000 delegates and 100 booths,” CBAA said.
