Jet Support Services (JSSI) is sponsoring a helicopter show at the downtown Chicago vertiport on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show, which is free and open to the public, will feature some 20 helicopters on static display, including many Bell Helicopter and Airbus Helicopters models.
“As the company that brought back a dedicated commercial helicopter facility to downtown Chicago, Vertiport Chicago is excited to be hosting Chicago’s first helicopter show,” said Bob McCabe, the chief business development officer at the vertiport, which opened in April 2015. “Helicopters save and protect lives, serve the community and bring business to Chicago. We hope you can join us to learn about the amazing types of helicopters that help our city every day.”
Vertiport VIP Helicopter Tours will be also offering five- to seven-minute helicopter tours for $75 per person at the show. Featured helicopters at the static display will include University of Chicago’s aeromedical Airbus AS365N2 Dauphin; Elite Rotorcraft’s Airbus AStar; U.S. Army Sikorsky Black Hawk UH-60; HeliFlite’s Bell 430; NBC5’s newsgathering Bell 206 LongRanger; and DHL’s Bell 206 that it uses for package delivery service.
